Initially based at Stevenage site, and then deployed at Henlow facility once fully trained. Some coverage to Stevenage may be required from time to time.

Here at ISS as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to recruit a qualified Commercial Plumber to join our client's Henlow operation. The client is a major Defence Sector organisation. The Henlow site is a high security, production facility containing offices and production buildings.
In this role, working with other engineers, you would work to a PPM regime with a mechanical focus, but some electrical and general building fabric repairs. While we are looking for more of a Mechanical Engineer, the role will be classified as "Multi Skilled" as you will be expected to support in different engineering disciplines.
Due to the high security of the Henlow site, you will initially work on the Stevenage facility while you go through the security vetting (SC). Once passed, you would then move over to Henlow, with some coverage back to Stevenage as required. This is a fantastic role for a qualified Plumbing Mechanical Engineer to join a challenging, high security site and develop their career.
Actions will include:
- Performing scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned mechanical equipment in accordance with plumbing codes, diagrams, operation manuals and manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
- Responsibility for other types of building services maintenance to include fabric and electrical related tasks.
- Observing mechanical systems and fixtures in operation to detect failures or locate causes of malfunctions.
- Dismantling devices and removing defective parts.
- Inspecting used parts and equipment for changes in calibration, dimensional requirements and manufacturer's specifications.
- Testing and calibrating systems and equipment to ensure proper system operations test equipment or precision measuring instruments.
- Responsibility for other types of building services maintenance to include basic fabric, HVAC, mechanical and related tasks.
- Providing callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota.
- Undertaking contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
- Issuing Permits to Work.

- A Plumbing or more general Mechanical qualification with clear Facilities Maintenance experience.
- Ability to pass SC check.
