Here at ISS, as a leading Facilities Management (FM) provider, we are looking to develop our central Sustainability Division in relation to our progression towards Net Zero. We are now looking to recruit a Decarbonisation Lead to develop, implement and monitor Decarbonisation Strategies across Scope 3, within our main FM service lines (Technical/Engineering, Cleaning, Security & Food) across clients within all business segments, from government to banking.

The services are delivered by a combination of site based service staff and mobile operatives, all over the UK, and across varied client estates, only adding to the challenge of the role. This is your opportunity to come into a leading organisation in the Built Environment space, working within a rapidly growing central Sustainability team, both writing and driving practical implementation of decarbonisation strategies across diverse service lines we deliver nationally to our fantastic client base.

Given a clear mandate from senior leadership, you will be empowered to make real and effective change in this brand new role. We ideally would be looking for someone with a strong understanding of Decarbonisation but also having had time spent in an "Operations" front line role. An ability to manage data and work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances would be highly beneficial.

Actions will include:

  • Work with core service lines to develop deployment ready decarbonisation strategies, and sign off plans, milestones and KPI’s with MD’s, Heads of function, and other senior leadership team members as needed to ensure teams can be held to account for delivery.
  • Develop and implement effective reporting and analysis tools to ensure that the delivery of all service line sustainability activity is delivered to scope and within the agreed milestones.
  • Define and communicate roles, responsibilities and decision-making authority to ensure accountability of delivery for each service line and escalate issues through agreed channels.
  • Ensure that SMEs source, test, evidence and implement suitable solutions that are cost effective and impact on the delivery of action plan targets.
  • Share data with the Net Zero and Technical functions and report progress of individual service line plans.
  • Ensure appropriate data management systems and processes are in use by each service line, highlight any data or system issues to the Data Governance Manager and agree resolutions.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risk associated with the delivery of the service line plans, escalating any business wide and/or critical risks/issues to the Head of function.
  • Co-ordinate task management activity from internal and external service line SMEs and resources across UK&I, group, customers and suppliers to successfully deliver targets and outcomes for each plan.
  • Create standardised methods, resources and templates for reporting progress against each service line plan.
  • Set up and manage the governance and meeting framework and cadence for SteerCo and individual service line project leads.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends to help inform solutions for service lines.
