Hostess Supervisor

The Hosting Supervisor will work as part of a team of supervisors overseeing the kitchens to ensure that high standards are consistently maintained and excellent service is delivered daily.

Job Description
You will oversee large teams on each shift, comprising around 46 team members working various shift patterns between 7 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 7 pm.
The kitchens are spread across six floors, with responsibility for two floors per supervisor. Key duties also include managing payroll, staff allocation for shifts, and completing kitchen logbook checks.
Each day, approximately 1,200 patients are fed three times daily from 21 kitchens across the hospital site, making this role vital to the smooth running and success of the catering operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support to ensure staff work efficiently and comply with policies
- Promote effective communication to foster positive employee relations
- Manage recruitment, induction, and training per ISS and Trust guidelines
- Handle staff management including absence, disciplinary and grievance issues
- Build strong working relationships with Trust, ProjectCo, ISS, and partners
- Maintain adequate staffing levels and manage additional resource needs
- Monitor service quality, report to line manager, and implement corrective actions
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Catering experience, preferably from any sector
- Strong people management skills
- Ability to adapt team allocations based on needs
- NVQ Level 2 Food Safety preferred but not essential (can be provided)
