Here at ISS, we are looking to develop our Sustainability & Social resource aligned against a new, truly major public sector contract, going live in Autumn of this year, which encompasses a national client estate.
A major element of the contract is a comprehensive Sustainability, Environmental and Social Value programme which you will head up, line managing a small team and engaging with senior ISS and client stakeholders from various functions.
From a Sustainability perspective, this is one of the largest FM contracts in the UK and so represents a hugely exciting opportunity for an ambitious Sustainability Lead within the Built Environment space
Coming up at the start, or near, the starting point of the contract you will oversee the evolution of Sustainability delivery affecting a truly complex and major client estate with varying needs and many moving parts
Actions will include:
- Ownership for the delivery and reporting of the ISS Social Value Plan and Sustainability Management Plan for the contract against the contract targets and KPI’s.
- Chair the ISS / client Community Interest Group, driving collaboration across both organisations, along with key internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and communities.
- Drive high performance and continuous improvement of the ISS Social Value and Sustainability programmes and commitments for the contract.
- Update on upcoming legislation and market trends for Social Value and Sustainability, ensuring the programmes delivered to client follows best practice.
- Manage the budget for the Social Value and Sustainability programmes and teams.
- Manage the Social Value Lead and Sustainability Lead, ensuring that their teams are delivering in line with the contractual requirements.
- Oversee and lead social value and sustainability strategy
- Support the wider Government sector to maximise impact and set the standard for best practice
- Liaise with ISS Central Functions (e.g. People & Culture) and Operations Performance (e.g. Sustainability, Supply Chain & Procurement) to ensure that the contract requirements are supported and enabled for delivery, utilising ISS best practice processes.
- Key point of contact for client senior Social Value and Sustainability stakeholders.
- This role has a national scope; regular travel will be required to support the delivery of the key responsibilities and tasks and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

- Extensive, developed experience within Sustainability leadership, encompassing Sustainability, Environmental and Social Values
- Excellent Communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience of public sector contract would be very beneficial
- Experience of the FM sector again would be useful
