None working Supervisor role - best suits a confident Lead Engineer/Supervisor looking to progress into management.

Mon to Fri. Home based with travel to key sites in Darlington & Glasgow. Can consider none Facilities Technical backgrounds.

Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to develop our Engineering resource aligned against a key UK Government client within the north region, encompassing two key sites in Darlington and Glasgow, but also smaller sites in Newcastle and Middlesborough, plus a facility in Aberdeen, but that does not require any site presence.

Based from home and supervising 5 engineers, you will play a key part in the Engineering delivery within M&E maintenance, small install jobs and fabric repairs across Office facilities. You will oversee the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) regime and reactive repairs to ensure successful, and compliant completion.

Please note, one of the sites is a high profile conference centre, home to senior Government officials and foreign representatives and so a top level engineering service is required.

The key responsibility, while reporting into the Regional Engineering Manager, will be ensuring Engineer and Sub contractors are working safely, provide advice and support, provide first line management support (performance reviews, dealing with sickness, holidays etc) while also working closely with the end client to ensure customer satisfaction.

This is a fantastic role for a confident Engineer, with some leadership, and/or client facing experience looking to take the next step into management, working for a leader Facilities provider on an established Government contract.

Actions will include:

  • Perform supervisory functions common to a facility maintenance and utility plant operations organisation.
  • Review and evaluate performance and ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Take corrective action to resolve problems.
  • Understand the Owner’s building operations rules for the building(s) under care and as provided by the Technical Service Manager and/or Key Account Director.
  • Work with Technical Services Manager to ensure efficient utilisation of staff.
  • Make Task assignments as needed for Work Tickets and Preventative Maintenance Work Orders for the O&M Team.
  • Solve problems within procedural limitations.
  • Ensure staff complete PM’s and work orders as scheduled each month.
  • Ensure the Operations & Maintenance Documents (Documents Library) of Drawings, O&M manuals, Site Operators Manual, asset registers etc. are up to date and neatly stored and easily and readily retrievable.
  • Review, edit and maintain SOPS/MOPS/EOPS as appropriate for site operations.
  • Within the space provided, maintain effective storage and inventory of spare parts, tools, and service equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Dispose of broken tools, unusable spare parts, and waste materials associated with the O&M program in accordance with management’s instructions.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed for the effective and safe accomplishment of maintenance and project work.
  • Direct the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Assist the Technical Manager by ensuring all assigned employees are aware of and comply with Company, government and client policies, procedures, and regulations.

We need from you:

A Technical/Engineering background and qualification, strong communication skills, and ideally leadership abilities proven already.
