Up to Β£42,500. Role covering on a weekly rotating basis two sites 5 miles from each other in Glasgow (no travel within working day to opposing site). 4 nights, 3 off, 6 days, 1 day, 3 nights, 3 off, 7 off. Overtime available. No call out. Training available. 23 days holiday.
Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to recruit an Electrician to join our client's Data Centre sites in Glasgow. This role covers two Data Centre sites, only 5 miles from each other. You will be based on one site for that week's shift, and then move over to the opposing the following week.
As the custodian, and lone engineer of the site during your shift, you will perform standard electrical PPMs and some reactive repairs with an electrical focus. You will have support from a local Supervisor and Technical Manager. Data Centres are classed as critical environments and your support will be key to ensure they operate smoothly with power kept on. However, they are not on office or production facilities and so the pace of work is not as frantic, meaning the role best suits an engineer happy to be on a single site through a 12 hour shift where you can plan work most effectively ahead. There is also training available to both LV and HV AP.
This is a fantastic role for a qualified electrician, looking to move into an established role with excellent job security, where you can work within the cutting edge Data Centre industry and will provide a less frantic week, compared to a Mobile role.
Actions will include:
- To undertake electrical PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.
- To undertake activities on Critical assets and systems within Critical Engineering environments in a proactive manner.
- To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
- To ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
- To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
- To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer satisfaction.
- To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out.
- To take a pro-active approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary.
We need from you: Electrical qualifications and ideally maintenance experience, but can consider an install background for someone looking to get into maintenance.
