HEAD OF PROJECTS (CONSTRUCTION)

Surrey, KT13 0SL | Permanent | 40 hours per week

ISS is hiring a Head of Projects (Construction) to lead a diverse, high-value portfolio across the UK.

This national, strategic role is heavily focused on pre-construction (approx. 80%), with the remaining 20% spent on overseeing project delivery. It\’s a long-term opportunity with a 6–7 year runway to shape and grow this key leadership position.

We\’re looking for a seasoned project leader—someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and has the vision to drive operational excellence and regional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and growth of Capital Projects and MAC nationally
• Build and manage key relationships across internal stakeholders and clients
• Take full ownership of P&L and commercial governance
• Oversee project delivery models and develop project management teams
• Champion compliance, risk mitigation, and best practice
• Develop subcontractor networks and supply chain strategies
• Promote continuous improvement in project execution

About You

• Extensive senior-level Project Manager experience in Construction or building projects (public or corporate sectors)
• Expertise in the preconstruction phase of the project lifecycle, including demonstrated experience of estimating project costs.
• Experience of creating, presenting and managing high quality tender documents to customers.
• Proven success delivering projects with a value of £6m +
• Strong commercial mindset with leadership experience across dispersed teams
• Background in construction or engineering, with relevant degree or HNC
• Demonstrable experience of managing Health & Safety compliance
• Strong knowledge of CDM regulations
• Project management qualification (Prince2, APMP, PMP or equivalent)
• IOSH / NEBOSH essential
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Monday.com
• Full UK driving licence required
