We are looking for an organized and proactive Engineering Coordinator / Control of Contractors Coordinator to join our team at a high-profile site in Edinburgh. This role is key to ensuring that all subcontractor works are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with the client’s permit to work & work authorisation processes.
You’ll take ownership of contractor governance, including document checks, access control, safety procedures and compliance inspections. The position offers a great opportunity to build long-term career progression within a collaborative, safety-focused team.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and book in subcontractors in line with site procedures
- Review and validate contractor documentation (RAMS, permits)
- Manage and support the permit to work and work authorisation processes
- Escort subcontractors, ensuring all security protocols are followed
- Conduct site inspections to verify safety and quality compliance
- Support engineering teams with documentation and logbooks
- Assist with site security arrangements and compliance processes
- Provide administrative support related to contractor activity
- Monitor and record subcontractor performance and adherence
- Experience in a similar role within facilities, construction or engineering environments
- Solid knowledge of M&E disciplines and associated legislative/statutory requirements
- IOSH Managing Safely (essential); NEBOSH (desirable or working towards)
- Proven experience in managing subcontractor groups operationally and safely to prevent undesirable outcomes
- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and subcontractor groups
- Organised, proactive, and able to work under pressure
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and reactive environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence
- Technical knowledge from a Facilities Management or other technical background
- Ability to obtain BPSS Security Clearance.
