We are seeking a highly organised and safety-focused Control of Contractors Coordinator to oversee the safe management of sub-contractor activities across the contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all contractor works are undertaken in a controlled, compliant, and safe manner, maintaining full governance through robust work authorisation and permit-to-work processes.
As Control of Contractors Coordinator, you will work closely with sub-contractor groups and internal stakeholders to ensure all relevant documentation, approvals and control measures are in place before work begins. You’ll also proactively manage data and documentation, ensuring the SharePoint system remains fully updated, audit-ready, and compliant at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the safe coordination and control of all sub-contractor works in line with client and company procedures.
- Liaise with sub-contractors and internal stakeholders to issue work authorisations and permits promptly and accurately.
- Plan and prioritise works in collaboration with operational teams to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption.
- Review all sub-contractor Health & Safety documentation, ensuring risk assessments and control measures are thorough and appropriate.
- Conduct audits and inspections of ongoing sub-contractor activities to ensure procedural, safety and legislative compliance.
- Investigate any sub-contractor violations or non-conformances, driving corrective and preventative actions.
- Prepare compliance reports, identifying areas for improvement and promoting operational transparency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sub-contractor partners, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration and accountability.
- Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety or contractor management role.
- Solid understanding of M&E disciplines, statutory requirements and industry best practice.
- Demonstrable experience in managing sub-contractors from both operational and safety perspectives.
- Confident communicator, able to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, reactive environment.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and SharePoint systems.
- Ability to obtain BPSS Security Clearance.
