ISS Facility Services UK are seeking a highly skilled Food Account Manager to lead the delivery of food service operations across a range of government buildings, including staff restaurants, retail food outlets, café bars and wider catering environments. This role provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced operator with strong financial and people-leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will balance strategic direction with hands-on operational oversight, ensuring resilience, compliance and continual improvement across all services.
As the role operates within government environments, applicants must hold - or be eligible to obtain - SC Clearance.
The Food Account Manager will be responsible for delivering high-quality, profitable and compliant food service operations across multiple government sites. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will ensure consistency of standards, robust contract performance and excellent client relationships. You will lead multi-site teams, oversee operational and financial performance, and ensure the smooth integration of services across varied catering environments. A strong food background and proven leadership experience are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, allocate and monitor the work of self and team to ensure targets are met and quality standards are exceeded across all contracts.
- Manage the operational and financial performance of contracts, ensuring strong P&L control and driving profitability.
- Work collaboratively with Key Account Managers, the Key Account Director and cross-functional departments to deliver consistent and successful food service operations.
- Lead, motivate and support teams across multiple sites, ensuring effective and efficient task delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with policies and procedures related to recruitment, absence management and disciplinary processes.
- Oversee the development of supervisors, operatives and wider teams, creating succession plans for key roles.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients at all appropriate levels.
- Provide strategic leadership across dual-function services, ensuring operational integration and robust resilience planning.
- Develop and oversee safe systems of work, ensuring alignment with all relevant health & safety legislation.
- Manage and matrix-lead teams, providing mentorship, performance oversight and professional development.
- Strong food background, ideally within retail catering, staff restaurants, café bars or similar environments.
- Strong financial acumen with proven experience in managing food cost, P&L and driving profit.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with experience managing multi-site teams.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations and mitigating risks associated with the unique environments.
- Existing SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
