The Associate Nutritionist will bring specialist knowledge to support education contracts, focusing on compliance with nutritional school food standards and the management of special diet processes. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a global facilities management company in a role centred on child nutrition.
Ideal for a recent graduate, the role will involve supporting adherence to relevant legislation and guidelines to ensure the provision of healthy, nutritious food in schools, while aligning with the ISS Education brand. You will manage special diet referrals and act as a key contact for communication around dietary requirements. Additionally, you will play a role in supporting the delivery of wider health, wellbeing, and nutrition initiatives and programmes across the education portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the central Nutrition Team inbox and maintain accurate pupil dietary files.
- Process safeguarding referral forms and respond to dietary menu queries.
- Liaise with parents, catering teams and teachers regarding special diet requirements.
- Support the Nutritionist in reviewing menu compliance with Food-Based School Food Standards.
- Assist in creating special diet menus during bi-annual menu updates.
- Contribute to educational initiatives and events, engaging with children, parents, and staff.
- Help deliver internal training on healthy eating and allergen management.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Degree in Nutrition or equivalent, and registered as an Associate Nutritionist with AfN. Passionate about making a positive impact on children’s diets and health.
- Experience with nutritional analysis software (e.g. Saffron).
- Strong understanding of special dietary needs and allergen management.
- Knowledge of relevant food, nutrition and allergen legislation and guidelines.
