Here at ISS, as one of the UK's Leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to develop our operational resource dedicated to a major Government client within Kent, by recruiting a driven Assistant Facilities Manager to take ownership of day to day FM services (Cleaning, Engineering, Security etc) within 3 government sites – Ashford, Maidstone and Canterbury
These are government office facilities but also included Research Laboratories and specialist storage areas, and so represent a clear Facilities challenge to ensure smooth day to day operation
Here, you will line manage 3 Facilities Assistants who are based on different sites, ensuring they are supported and are completing the day to day works correctly
This role will also put you in close proximity to the end client, and it is imperative you forge effective working relationships with this person, ensuring customer satisfaction and managing that relationship on a day to day basis
In essence, as Assistant FM you will ensure your team are delivery day to day, while reporting into the Regional FM who is more strategic in focus
This is a fantastic role for an established Facilities professional, looking to develop their career within leadership, working for a market leader, aligned against a truly major Government customer
Actions will include:
- Maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
- Rostering of Engineering, Cleaning and facility Placemakers to ensure that all sites are manned to contractual requirements and covering any sickness or planned absences.
- Ensure all documents such as Audits, COSHH, H&S and SOPs etc. are completed, kept up to date and reviewed at appropriate times.
- Ensure effective recruitment, training and development of frontline Placemakers.
- Ensure all services are delivered in a commercially responsible way.
- Ensure all customer queries / complaints are correctly recorded through the customer complaints procedure.
- Ensure all relevant periodic reporting and required paperwork and administration is completed on time.
- Ensuring rigorous cost control within agreed plans, such as expenditure in materials, consumable, pay and agency labour usage.
- Maximise additional revenue opportunities such as extra cover and ad hoc work, as well as margin improvement opportunities through price reviews and additional services.
- • Ensure effective supervision, 1-2-1s and management of staff within your control
We need from you:
- Some experience within FM, whether as an established Coordinator, Administrator or Supervisor
- Any line mgmnt experience would be very welcome
- Ideally some basic understanding of Technical/Hard FM
