We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the delivery and development of all patient feeding and retail services within the hospital. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective systems and processes in line with Government, Trust, and company standards.
You will lead a diverse and multi-skilled team, providing clear, consistent direction while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong operational acumen, a thorough understanding of healthcare catering and retail standards, and the ability to drive service improvements. Key Responsibilities- Lead and support all Patient Feeding and Retail Operations across the hospital site, ensuring safe and effective service in line with company policies.
- Manage catering planning, development, and compliance with Hospital Food Review (2021) and ISS safety standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Take full financial ownership of catering budgets, sales forecasts, and outlet performance.
- Plan and allocate team workloads with clear objectives and work schedules.
- Drive continuous improvement through service delivery targets, regular reviews, and reporting to the Key Account Manager.
- Oversee staff development with performance plans and effective communication across the team.
- Food Safety knowledge.
- Higher qualification in Catering Management (desirable, but not essential).
- Level 3 Health and Safety qualification.
- Experience in customer interaction, food handling, and healthcare (desirable).
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a large team.
- Experience in retail and patient catering.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office).
