We are looking for a Trainee Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of electrical and building services maintenance within a static corporate office environment. This role suits candidates who hold relevant electrical qualifications with limited hands‑on experience, have practical electrical or facilities management experience while working towards formal qualifications, or have both qualifications and experience and are looking to further develop their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical PPM tasks in line with schedules and site requirements
  • Undertake proactive and reactive maintenance works issued through the helpdesk within agreed timeframes
  • Support wider building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC, mechanical and related tasks
  • Ensure works are completed safely and in line with health and safety compliance requirements
  • Participate in the on‑call rota to provide call‑out response for the client
  • Work as part of the on‑site engineering team to exceed customer expectations
  • Monitor contractors on site to ensure workmanship meets required standards
  • Undertake contractor control duties, including the issue and management of Permits to Work

Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications

  • Basic electrical knowledge or practical experience
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures within a building services environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures and safe systems of work
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach when working on a client site
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team

Training and Development

  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
  • Working towards, or prepared to work towards, relevant electrical qualifications.
  • Commitment to developing technical skills and knowledge within building services and facilities management.
