We are seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer to provide commercial gas, heating, combustion, and building services engineering maintenance across client properties. The role involves fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation works, with a strong electrical bias, delivered directly on client sites.
We are looking for a technically competent engineer with proven experience working on commercial boilers, heating plant, combustion and HVAC systems, ensuring statutory compliance, high safety standards, and service delivery in line with FM contracts and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out fault finding, reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and installation works on commercial gas, combustion, heating, and HVAC systems.
- Deliver reactive and PPM works in line with FM schedules, contractual requirements, and agreed response times.
- Ensure all plant, equipment, and work areas meet company standards, manufacturer requirements, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain full operational responsibility for assigned works, identifying defects and implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours reactive support (one in eight, with overtime pay).
- Monitor service delivery against SLAs and KPIs, reporting defects or failures via service desk systems.
- Control and supervise contractors, including quality checks and issuing Permits to Work.
- Complete all required documentation, compliance records, maintenance reports, and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
- Commercial Gas qualifications essential, including Commercial Core Safety COCN1 or CODNC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1 and CIGA1.
- Proven experience servicing, fault diagnosing and repairing commercial boilers and central heating systems across multiple manufacturers.
- Strong electrical knowledge, including wiring and fault finding on boilers and combination systems.
- Knowledge of welding and soldering techniques.
- Experience working under strict Health and Safety regulations.
