Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the performance and reliability of our clients’ buildings, ensuring that every environment we manage operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing a world-class and consistent building maintenance service to a range of client properties across your designated region.
This includes fault finding, repairs, installations, and both planned and reactive maintenance. Working as part of a skilled, multi-trade team, you will help to uphold the highest standards of service delivery and safety, contributing to a culture of excellence across all aspects of facilities maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance), reactive and proactive works within agreed timeframes to exceed customer expectations.
- Undertake other building services maintenance, including HVAC, mechanical, and fabric tasks as required.
- Provide out-of-hours callout support as part of the on-call rota.
- Manage and monitor contractors’ performance, ensuring compliance with standards and issuing Permits to Work.
- Ensure electrical systems and equipment operate to specified performance criteria.
- Deliver professional and customer-focused service at all times, maintaining positive client relationships.
- Ensure all works adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and risk assessment procedures.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds 2365, 2357 Level 3 and NVQ 2356 AM2, or equivalent
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2018), ideally with Amendment 2
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship
- Desirable:
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Inspection & Testing
Experience:
- Proven experience in electrical building services maintenance, including fault finding, installation, and inspection/testing.
- Background in providing reactive and planned maintenance within commercial or facilities management environments.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.
