We are seeking an experienced AC Engineer with a strong air conditioning and refrigeration bias to deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across a range of client sites. The role focuses on meeting and exceeding customer expectations by completing helpdesk-issued tasks within agreed timeframes while maintaining high technical and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver AC and refrigeration-biased PPM, proactive and reactive works within set timeframes via the helpdesk.
- Inspect, repair, modify and install refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including compressors, chillers and system controls.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance inspections and complete required adjustments or repairs.
- Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective components such as thermostats, switches, fan controls, relays, filters and compressors.
- Install, rebuild, replace or repair fans, motors, bearings, valves, controls, belts and associated equipment.
- Maintain and service heat exchangers, pressure controls, safety valves and automatic gas valves.
- Undertake additional building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC and mechanical tasks as required.
- Ensure all works comply with strict Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance and installation.
- Previous experience delivering reactive and PPM building services maintenance.
- Experience working within FM or building services environments across commercial properties.
- Proven adherence to Health & Safety procedures, including RAMS.
- City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in one of the following:
- Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems
- Heating and Ventilation
- Heating and Ventilation Service & Maintenance
