Home-based covering Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey c£35,000 to £40,000 per year (+ Vehicle + Overtime) Plus an excellent company benefits package.

The Opportunity: Are you a Field Engineer/Technician with an electrical, comms or electronics background? We are currently recruiting a Field Engineer role to maintain the technology on motorways and trunk roads around the Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey areas. You will conduct installation, maintenance and fault-finding activities on a variety of roadside electronic equipment within your patch (VMS, ANPR, MIDAS, Roadside telephones, etc.). I am happy to speak to individuals coming from backgrounds in traffic signals, motorway communication, CCTV and RTPI, as training will be provided for those coming from outside of the sector. Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in an electrical/electronic/telecoms maintenance environment.
  • Experience of fault-finding equipment.
  • An understanding of power and comms.
  • CCTV or ANPR knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Current G39, HERS8, NRSWA, NHSS8 Qualification (Highly Desirable).
  • Full drivers licence.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Fault response and repair of roadside equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance visits on all equipment in line with provided schedule.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce fault rates.
  • Carry out fault finding to component level.
  • Coordinate with the lead engineers to arrange maintenance and inspection schedules.
  • Able to undertake night working when required.
