A 6-month contract opportunity for an experienced User Researcher to support the development and enhancement of a specific healthcare product for a confidential UK central government agency. The role involves conducting user research and testing to understand user needs, validate the product experience, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record of working within digital or technology environments.
  • Practical experience of designing and conducting user research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Experience with:
    • User interviews
    • Surveys
    • Diary studies
    • User testing
    • Usability testing
    • Qualitative research
    • Quantitative research
    • Research analysis and synthesis
    • Identifying user needs, behaviours, and pain points
    • Turning research findings into actionable recommendations
    • Translating user feedback into user stories or product requirements
    • Stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Designers, and technical teams.
  • Able to communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Experience:

  • Researching AI, semantic search, search or data products.
  • Working with emerging technology.
  • Complex digital transformation programmes.
  • Central government or wider public-sector environments.
  • Working within multidisciplinary Agile product teams.
  • Evaluating potential product use cases and making evidence-based recommendations.

Note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic level of security clearance before undertaking the assignment (one to two weeks’ lead-time).
