We are currently supporting a confidential public sector organisation on the appointment of an experienced Cloud Technical Architect to support two strategically important transformation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the future direction of a nationally significant digital, data and cloud transformation programme while working within a complex and highly impactful public sector environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping future technology direction across both a major CRM Discovery Programme and a significant Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform (EDAP) transformation initiative. This opportunity would suit an experienced Technical Architect, Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect or Cloud Architect with a strong background delivering cloud-based transformation programmes within complex government or highly regulated environments.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams and delivery leadership, you will help establish the current-state architecture, identify future-state requirements and develop actionable roadmaps that support long-term service ownership and digital transformation objectives.

Programme Overview:
  • CRM Discovery Programme: The initial discovery phase will focus on understanding:
    • Current CRM and CRM-like capabilities across the organisation
    • Existing platforms, systems and operating models
    • Areas of duplication, overlap and common business requirements
    • Future CRM strategy considerations
    • Data, integration and architecture requirements
    • Opportunities for platform consolidation and standardisation
  • Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform (EDAP): The second initiative focuses on supporting the transition and onboarding of key data services into long-term ownership and operational management. You will contribute towards:
    • Current-state technical assessments
    • Service onboarding and transition planning
    • Enterprise Data Platform architecture reviews
    • Data integration and analytics capability assessments
    • Cloud architecture recommendations
    • Technical governance and assurance activities
    • Future-state roadmap development
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical discovery activities across multiple transformation programmes
  • Assess existing cloud, data and application architectures
  • Produce architecture assessments, recommendations and target-state designs
  • Define architecture principles, standards and governance approaches
  • Engage with business and technical stakeholders to capture requirements and priorities
  • Support cloud strategy development and technology decision-making
  • Identify opportunities for service rationalisation, platform consolidation and operational efficiencies
  • Produce high-quality architecture documentation and technical artefacts
  • Support transition planning and service onboarding activities
  • Provide technical leadership throughout discovery and subsequent delivery phases
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience operating as a Technical Architect, Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect or Cloud Architect
  • Strong cloud architecture experience across enterprise-scale environments
  • Experience supporting complex discovery and assessment phases
  • Experience working on large-scale data, analytics or digital transformation programmes
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles
  • Experience producing architecture roadmaps, target operating models and technical strategies
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
  • Experience operating within highly regulated or public sector environments (Government Digital Service - GDS experience)
  • Data platform, analytics or enterprise data architecture experience
  • CRM platform architecture and transformation experience
  • Service transition, onboarding and operational readiness assessments
  • Experience contributing to large-scale cloud migration and transformation programmes
Qualifications:

Candidates should ideally hold one or more relevant certifications or qualifications, including:

  • TOGAF
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect
  • BCS Architecture Certifications
  • Enterprise Architecture Certifications
  • Cloud Architecture Certifications
