Plymouth, Devon (Remote-Working with travel to client sites)

£30,000 to £32,500 per year

Excellent Pension (22.9% employer contribution), 26 days Holiday + Bank Holidays, ongoing training opportunities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Maintain, upgrade, and support IT infrastructure including switches, access points, servers, cabling and security.
  • Ensure the site’s connectivity and security systems are functioning optimally.
  • At least 3 years’ advanced experience in IT and basic security.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and MIS platform.
  • Strong knowledge of Unifi and Meraki Networks.
  • Experience with virtualisation (Hyper-V), networking (VLANs, WAN) and endpoint protection.
  • Assist with local deployment of centrally managed solutions, including device imaging, software installations and updates.
  • Responsible for scheduled backup operations.
  • Proven IT support experience working on-site in a business.
  • Experience of managing enterprise level cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
  • Network management (switches, routing, firewalls, Wi-Fi, servers).
  • Maintaining AV infrastructure such as projectors, TVs, digital signage, casting devices.

The Opportunity:

My client working within the education sector are currently looking for an IT Infrastructure and Change Engineer on a permanent basis. The key purpose of this role is to work under the direction of the IT Services Manager and the Head of IT and Infrastructure to deliver an outstanding ICT provision across the business, to ensure service excellence that supports all IT users to achieve outstanding progress. To work collaboratively within the IT Support Team to support and enhance the IT network and develop effective solutions, using appropriate software and hardware, whilst supporting the strategic IT transformation and ongoing change programs.
