The Opportunity: We are supporting a confidential public sector organisation in the appointment of an experienced CRM Technical Architect to play a key role in a major CRM transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract basis for a major central government project (Government Digital Services).
Working within a complex enterprise environment, you will be responsible for defining the current technical landscape, developing a transitional target architecture and producing the technical artefacts required to support future CRM strategy and implementation. This is a strategic architecture role requiring significant experience of CRM migration programmes, enterprise architecture, and contact centre solutions, with the successful candidate helping to shape the future technical direction of a business-critical customer engagement platform.
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Architect who combines deep CRM architecture expertise with strong enterprise integration knowledge and a proven track record of delivering successful CRM migration programmes. You will be comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels, engaging with senior stakeholders and producing high-quality architectural deliverables that support long-term technology transformation.

Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience operating as a Technical Architect, CRM Architect or Enterprise Architect on complex transformation programmes.
- Strong experience designing and delivering CRM migration strategies.
- Experience architecting enterprise CRM solutions within large-scale organisations.
- Demonstrable experience designing technical solutions supporting contact centre environments.
- Strong understanding of systems integration, enterprise architecture and application interoperability.
- Experience producing high-quality architecture documentation and technical design artefacts.
- Strong knowledge of Architecture Modelling / Integration Design / Data Flows / Sequence Diagrams / Environment Architecture.
- Experience defining non-functional requirements and technical governance processes.
- Experience developing technical risk registers, assumptions logs and implementation strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience supporting digital transformation and enterprise application modernisation programmes.
- Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure would be beneficial but is not essential.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical architecture for a major CRM transformation programme.
- Assess and document the current ("As-Is") technical architecture, including applications, integrations and supporting infrastructure.
- Produce detailed architecture documentation including As-Is Architecture Diagrams / Data Flow Diagrams / Supplier Landscape Assessments / Interface Mapping.
- Design the transitional target-state CRM architecture to support future organisational requirements.
- Produce technical architecture artefacts including Technical Architecture Diagrams / Integration Patterns / Sequence Diagrams / Environment Models.
- Develop architecture approaches that support future CRM platform evolution while meeting immediate programme objectives.
- Identify technical risks, assumptions and architectural dependencies throughout the programme lifecycle.
- Define and document non-functional requirements including security, resilience, availability, scalability and performance.
- Support architecture governance, technical assurance and design authority reviews.
- Develop test, assurance and validation strategies.
- Produce cutover, transition, knowledge transfer and handover documentation.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, solution architects and third-party suppliers throughout the engagement.
NB: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic level of security clearance before undertaking the assignment (around two weeks’ lead-time).
