Skills and Experience:
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, in various environments
- Conduct site surveys to assess cabling requirements for monitoring systems
- Install cable containment systems, including conduits, trunking, cable trays and baskets
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure that installations are completed within the project timelines
- Test and troubleshoot cable systems to ensure proper functioning of connected devices
- Diagnose and rectify faults in structured cabling systems
- Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and best practices
- Install Wi-Fi access points, UPS units and related equipment
- Maintain accurate records of installations, tests and faults
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements
- Optional fibre optic installation, termination and test
The Opportunity:
My client working within the alarm systems sector are currently looking for a Structured Data Cabling Engineer on a permanent basis. In this role you will work within the core delivery team and be required to work on internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations, doing install, terminate and test cabling to the highest standards; as well as deploying containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray and basket. You will work in varied environments, including offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites and data centres and this will occasionally require travel and stay overnight as required by projects.
