The Opportunity: ISR Recruitment is supporting an IT consultancy working with a confidential UK central government agency to appoint an experienced User Researcher for an initial 6-month contract to support the development and enhancement for a specific healthcare product, conducting user research and testing to understand user needs, validate the product experience and identify opportunities for improvement.

Skills and Experience: We are looking for an experienced User Researcher with a proven track record of working within digital or technology environments, with practical experience of designing and conducting user research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods. You will ideally have experience with:

  • User interviews
  • Surveys
  • Diary studies
  • User testing
  • Usability testing
  • Qualitative research
  • Quantitative research
  • Research analysis and synthesis
  • Identifying user needs, behaviours and pain points
  • Turning research findings into actionable recommendations
  • Translating user feedback into user stories or product requirements
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication

You should be comfortable working collaboratively with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Designers and technical teams, and able to communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:

  • Researching AI, semantic search, search or data products
  • Working with emerging technology
  • Complex digital transformation programmes
  • Central government or wider public-sector environments
  • Working within multidisciplinary Agile product teams
  • Evaluating potential product use cases and making evidence-based recommendations

NB: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic level of security clearance before undertaking the assignment (one to two weeks’ lead-time).
