Salary: £38,000 to £48,000 per year (+ excellent night and overtime rates)

Location: UK wide with regular travel and staying away (various sites)

The Opportunity:

I am currently looking for experienced Highways Electricians with a valid HERS portfolio and registration to join a busy team carrying out installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding on highway electrical assets. This would include street lighting, traffic signals, illuminated signage, feeder pillars and associated infrastructure, requiring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The nature of this work will require UK-wide travel, regularly working and staying away from home from Monday to Friday on national projects. All expenses and accommodation costs are provided and covered.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in highway electrical works with a valid HERS Registration
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (highly beneficial)
  • Strong understanding of safe isolation procedures
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to regularly stay away and work nights
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance and repair of the following:
  • Street lighting columns and lanterns (LED upgrades)
  • Feeder pillars and cut-outs
  • Traffic signals and signal heads
  • Illuminated signs, bollards and beacons
  • CMS/VMS signs
  • Fault finding and diagnostic testing on highway electrical systems
  • Cable jointing and terminations
  • Testing and inspection in accordance with BS 7671
  • Completing all documentation including test certificates and job reports
  • Working in compliance with NHSS 8, HERS requirements and company procedures
  • Liaising with supervisors, traffic management teams, and local authorities
  • Ensuring safe systems of work at all times
