System Administrator – Intelligent Transport Systems * Permanent * Dubai, UAE * Market Rates Role Summary: Our client is looking for a hands-on System & Application Administrator to support the deployment, configuration and ongoing operation of mission-critical software platforms across the Middle East. This role requires previous experience within Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic management, tolling, smart mobility or a closely related transportation technology environment. We are particularly interested in candidates who have supported central software applications and operational systems rather than purely roadside hardware. Role and Responsibilities: * Install, configure, upgrade and monitor transportation software platforms across physical, cloud, IaaS and PaaS environments. * Deploy and support applications running on traditional application servers and modern microservices-based architectures. * Provide second-line technical support for live, mission-critical systems, investigating application faults, system alerts and performance issues. * Support integrations between central applications and other ITS, traffic management and mobility systems. * Write scripts and automate recurring administration, monitoring and testing activities using Ansible or similar tools. * Work with project teams on solution design, deployment and system integration, while providing technical support and training to customers and partners. Skills and Experience: * 3–5+ years' experience supporting or administering operational software systems within ITS, traffic management, tolling, smart mobility or transportation technology. * Strong Windows and Linux/Unix knowledge, with experience deploying, configuring and troubleshooting server-based applications. * Scripting experience using PowerShell, Shell/Bash, Windows Batch or similar, alongside exposure to automation technologies. * Experience with cloud environments, infrastructure platforms and complex system/application integrations. * SQL/database knowledge is desirable, with Ansible, Git, microservices, CI/CD and automated testing experience advantageous. * Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills, with the ability to support business-critical systems in live operational environments. * Fluent English and willingness to travel when required.
