The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for an Engineer to conduct maintenance and repair of roadside technologies such as cameras, message signs and detectors, conducting reactive and preventative maintenance activities as well as calibration and commissioning. You will be working in a field-based capacity covering assets deployed around the Greater Glasgow area (with occasional trips to Northern England as and when required).
I am more than happy to speak with individuals coming from backgrounds in telecoms, CCTV/ANPR, security and alarms systems with some electrical knowledge/qualifications, particularly if you have any knowledge or interest in LAN and WAN Networks and IP Configuration and willingness to work on roadside technology.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience working as a maintenance engineer
- Experience of fault-finding equipment at component level
- Hands on experience with CCTV, ANPR or roadside technology - highly desirable
- Current G39, HERS8, NRSWA, NHSS8 Qualification - highly desirable
- Networking knowledge or certifications (CCNA/Comp TIA, etc.) - desirable
- Full UK drivers’ licence
NB: Candidates must be able to undertake planned night work and weekend working on a rota-basis (one in four)
Role and Responsibilities:
- Fault response and repair of roadside equipment
- Carry out routine maintenance visits on all equipment in line with provided schedule
- Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce fault rates
- Carry out fault finding to component level
- Root cause analysis of system faults
- Coordinate with the lead engineers to arrange maintenance and inspection schedules
