The Opportunity: We are supporting a confidential public sector organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to join a high-profile digital transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract basis. One role will focus on leading a Discovery phase programme and the other is an Alpha phase delivery workstream for a nationally significant digital health initiative, operating within a Government Digital Service (GDS) environment. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to shape, validate and deliver user-centred digital services that support critical public health and operational outcomes.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience delivering digital health products, clinical systems, case management platforms or consulting across Customer Information Management Systems (CIMS) within the government sector, healthcare clients, public health services or highly regulated environments.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience operating as a Senior Delivery Manager within GDS-aligned environments
  • Experience consulting within complex, regulated environments where security, compliance and governance are critical
  • Strong track record delivering Discovery and Alpha phase digital services
  • Experience working on digital health products, clinical systems, public health platforms, patient services, operational case management systems or CIMS solutions
  • Excellent understanding of the GDS Service Standard and service assessment process
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary agile teams including Product, Design, User Research, Architecture and Engineering
  • Experience translating user needs, research findings and service objectives into actionable delivery plans
  • Strong risk, dependency and delivery management capability
  • Relevant certifications such as: PRINCE2 / Agile / Scrum / MSP / PMP

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful delivery of Discovery or Alpha phase activities across multidisciplinary teams
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, planning activities and delivery governance, managing delivery plans, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies
  • Support the development of user-centred service propositions through iterative delivery and continuous learning
  • Work closely with Product Managers and User Researchers to ensure delivery aligns with validated user needs
  • Enable teams to produce evidence required for GDS assessments and governance reviews
  • Coordinate technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment across delivery objectives, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement
  • Provide regular reporting and progress updates to programme leadership and senior stakeholders
  • Remove delivery blockers and support teams in achieving successful Discovery and Alpha outcomes

NB: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic level of security clearance before undertaking the assignment (around two weeks’ lead-time).
