Data Cabling Engineer * Data Cabling Engineer * Swindon (Covering M4 Corridor) * £26,000 to £36,000 per year (+ Van + Fuel) * Plus an excellent company benefits package The Opportunity: My client operates within the alarm systems sector and are currently looking for a Data Cabling Engineer, a role where you will play a vital role in the installation maintenance and troubleshooting of data cabling infrastructure essential for IP monitoring systems. This includes CCTV access control intruder alarm systems data centre and server room monitoring and this position involves working in diverse environments such as commercial industrial, large estates and residential properties. You will be ensuring all cabling is installed to a high standard and meets both the client’s and the company’s requirements. Skills and Experience: * Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, in various environments. * Conduct site surveys to assess cabling requirements for monitoring systems. * Install cable containment systems, including conduits, trunking, cable trays, and baskets. * Work closely with the project management team to ensure that installations are completed within the project timelines. * Test and troubleshoot cable systems to ensure proper functioning of connected devices. * Read and interpret CAD plans, diagrams, and schematics for cable layouts. * Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and best practices. * Provide technical support for network infrastructure, including patching, labelling, and cable management. * Maintain accurate records of installations, tests, and faults. * Collaborate with the monitoring systems installation team to integrate cabling with IP-based monitoring systems. * Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements. * Optional fibre optic installation, termination and test.
