ISQ Recruitment is working with a leading food manufacturer near Diss that continues to grow, driven by strong demand from both existing and new customers. As a result, they’re looking to strengthen their engineering team with an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This will be a fast-paced production environment where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring machinery, equipment, and site facilities operate at maximum efficiency.

You must also have a full UK driving license and own vehicle due to the location.

Shift Pattern:

  • 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm / 8pm–8am)
  • 2 weeks on days, followed by 2 weeks on nights
  • 3 Engineers per shift, with additional day-based electrical support

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Supporting continuous improvement across plant performance and reliability
  • Collaborating with the wider engineering team to minimise downtime

About You:

  • We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Mechanical Engineer who can work confidently in a demanding production environment.
  • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong skills in TIG welding, lathes, and milling machines
  • Experience within a manufacturing or heavy plant environment (food/meat sector advantageous)
  • Knowledge of machinery, maintenance practices, and compliance standards
