HGV Technician
Salary: £37,440 basic, up to approximately £39,390 with late shift allowance + overtime paid at 1.5x
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: Alternating weekly shifts, Monday to Friday, 06:00-14:30 and 13:30-22:00. Saturdays every other week as required, paid at overtime rate.

ISQ Recruitment is working with a well-established commercial vehicle business to recruit experienced HGV Technicians for a busy workshop based in Nuneaton.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a permanent role with strong training, long‑term development and excellent overtime potential.
The role will involve carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers and associated commercial vehicles.
You will be joining a professional technical team where quality, safety and compliance are key.
This position would suit a qualified HGV Technician, Trailer Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician with strong fault‑finding skills, good attention to detail and the ability to work to DVSA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles.
- Complete routine inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and support repair planning with the wider workshop team.
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards and repair documentation.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to required compliance standards.
- Support road‑side or emergency repair work where required.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe.
- Candidate Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, or equivalent.
- Experience working on heavy goods vehicles, trailers or commercial vehicles.
- Strong understanding of DVSA standards and vehicle compliance.
- Ability to identify worn, damaged or faulty components.
- Full UK driving licence, ideally with relevant vehicle classes.
- IRTEC accreditation would be desirable but is not essential.
- Reliable, professional and able to work well as part of a technical team.
