ISQ Recruitment is recruiting Sweeper Driver for a leading public services organisation in Norwich. If you're an experienced professional driver looking for a role with more variety and independence, this could be the opportunity for you. This is a full-time temporary ongoing position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Working across Norwich, you'll operate a compact road sweeper and play a key role in keeping the city's streets clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
Key Duties
- Drive and operate a compact mechanical sweeper.
- Clean streets and public areas to a high standard.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
- Dispose of collected waste safely.
- Complete simple paperwork and timesheets.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Suitable backgrounds include road sweeping, waste collection, highways maintenance, plant, construction, tanker or tipper driving, HGV/LGV driving, and other vehicle or machinery operating roles. We also welcome candidates from backgrounds such as delivery, taxi, van or milk driving, forklift/MHE operation, or similar. Don't worry if your experience doesn't exactly match, we're happy to have a chat about transferable skills.
About You
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B).
- Category C1 licence is advantageous, with opportunities for further training and career development within the role.
- Confident driver with previous professional driving experience.
- This role is best suited to experienced drivers rather than newly qualified licence holders.
- Previous CPC qualification is advantageous but not required.
- Mechanical sweeper experience is desirable but full training will be provided.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and customer focused.
- Happy working outdoors and as part of a team.
- Applicants must be 21+ for insurance purposes.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and as part of a team.
