ISQ Recruitment is working with a public services organisation in Norwich who are looking to recruit Horticultural Operative on a temp to perm basis. To deliver high-quality horticultural maintenance and specialist plant care within Waterloo Park, ensuring the park's ornamental planting, shrubs, herbaceous borders, and rose beds are maintained to a consistently high standard. The post holder will apply specialist horticultural knowledge, including plant identification using botanical (Latin) names, to support the presentation, sustainability, and long-term health of the park's landscapes.
Pay: £13.89 per hour Overtime: £27.78 PH (after 37 hours)
Shifts: Monday to Friday 7:30am- 15:30pm & 7:30am- 15:00pm on Friday
Areas covered within this role are inclusive of but not limited to:
- Carry out specialist horticultural tasks including the lifting, division, and replanting of herbaceous perennials to promote plant health and seasonal display.
- Prune a wide range of shrubs and roses in accordance with best horticultural practice, ensuring correct timing, technique, and aftercare.
- Maintain ornamental beds, borders, and planted areas to a high visual and horticultural standard throughout the year.
- Demonstrate strong plant knowledge, including accurate identification of plants using Latin botanical names.
- Monitor plant health, identify pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies, and take appropriate remedial action.
Other Duties: The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied therefore the post-holder will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate to the role and as requested by his/her line manager.
About You: Excellent communicator, able to understand verbal and written instructions. Full UK driving licence is essential. Able to work as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail. Dependable with good timekeeping and attendance. Flexibility.
