ISQ Recruitment is working with a leading food manufacturer near Diss that continues to grow, driven by strong demand from both existing and new customers. As a result, they’re looking to strengthen their engineering team with an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This will be a fast-paced production environment where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring machinery, equipment, and site facilities operate at maximum efficiency.
Please note this role does not offer visa sponsorship. You must also have a full UK driving license and own vehicle due to the location.

Shift Pattern:
You’ll be part of a 4-team rotating shift pattern, working: 12-hour shifts (8am–8pm / 8pm–8am), 2 weeks on days, followed by 2 weeks on nights, 3 Engineers per shift, with additional day-based electrical support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance
- Supporting continuous improvement across plant performance and reliability
- Working on a wide range of production machinery and site infrastructure
- Ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and reporting
- Collaborating with the wider engineering team to minimise downtime
About You:
We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Mechanical Engineer who can work confidently in a demanding production environment. You will have:
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong skills in TIG welding, lathes, and milling machines
- Solid understanding of bearings, chains, sprockets, and taper locks
- Experience within a manufacturing or heavy plant environment (food/meat sector advantageous)
- Knowledge of machinery, maintenance practices, and compliance standards
