We’re recruiting on behalf of a major commercial vehicle workshop in London that is expanding its technical team. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled HGV professional who enjoys fault-finding, complex diagnostics, and working on leading heavy vehicle brands.
About the Role
- Handling diagnostic appointments and advanced fault investigation
- Completing mechanical repairs and rectifying faults found during inspections
- Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance to manufacturer standards
- Ensuring high levels of workmanship and compliance with safety procedures
- Updating job cards and maintaining accurate repair documentation
- Supporting service productivity and efficient workshop flow
- Participating in regular technical training to enhance your skill set
- Working to manufacturer guidelines and delivering quality-focused results
This is a role that offers both variety and technical depth — no two days are the same.
Shift Pattern - Alternating Weeks
- Week 1: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:30 (30 min unpaid break)
- Week 2: Monday-Friday, 14:00-22:30 (30 min unpaid break)
This alternating shift pattern includes shift payments for late shifts worked.
What We’re Looking For
- Diagnostic-level experience working on HGVs
- Manufacturer diagnostic accreditation preferred
- Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) desirable
- Time-served technicians with 5+ years’ experience also considered
- Strong diagnostic ability and technical problem-solving skills
- Flexible, organised, and able to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Understanding of health & safety requirements in a commercial workshop
Highly desirable experience:
- Diagnostic accreditation from any HGV manufacturer
- IRTEC qualification
- LGV/HGV/PCV licence
- Roadside assistance training
- Bus/coach experience
