We are recruiting for a Weighbridge Operator to join a well-established and fast‑moving food manufacturer near Bury St Edmunds. You’ll play an important part in keeping site operations running smoothly—managing vehicle movements, accurately recording deliveries, and acting as a key point of contact for drivers and visitors. This role combines elements of logistics, administration, and yard operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a fast‑paced environment with a mix of responsibilities. This position involves working at height at times, so candidates must be comfortable in this type of environment. A Counterbalance Forklift Licence would be advantageous, particularly for supporting wider yard duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating the weighbridge to accurately record incoming and outgoing vehicles
  • Booking in deliveries, checking documentation, and carrying out sampling
  • Inputting data into internal systems (full training provided)
  • Acting as the first point of contact for delivery drivers and site visitors
  • Coordinating vehicle movements to ensure efficient site flow
  • Supporting stock control and stock‑taking activities
  • Assisting with general yard/mill and operational tasks as required
  • Working closely with colleagues to support a busy manufacturing environment
Key Criteria
  • Prior experience as a Weighbridge Operator (desirable)
  • Forklift licence (desirable)
  • Experience of and comfortable to work at height
  • A friendly and professional attitude
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise across all levels in the business
  • Competent on a computer for data entry / learning bespoke system
  • Able to stay calm under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own car
  • Full Right to Work in the UK
