Cable Moulding Technician Location: Great Yarmouth Salary: Β£28,000 per year Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday We are looking for a Cable Moulding Technician to join a specialist manufacturing team within the geophysical and acoustic technology sector. This hands-on role involves preparing, assembling and overmoulding high-precision cables and connectors used in demanding subsea environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with cable preparation, soldering, or electronic assembly and a strong eye for detail. Responsibilities Prepare and strip electrical/optical cables to a high standard Terminate wires/fibres and clean components before moulding Carry out precise soldering of conductors, pins and connectors Operate low-pressure or injection moulding equipment Mix and apply potting compounds and epoxy resins Create watertight, pressure-resistant moulded seals Perform quality checks in line with ISO 9001 standards Maintain moulding, soldering and assembly equipment Follow all health and safety procedures and use correct PPE Accurately record production data and machine settings Requirements Experience in cable preparation, electronic assembly or similar role Confident soldering small components Familiarity with moulding/overmoulding processes (advantageous) Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions Strong attention to detail and high quality standards Able to work well in a team and follow guidance What Makes This Role Unique This is a specialised position working on delicate, high-value cable assemblies essential for subsea acoustic systems.
