We are working with a leading food manufacturer near Diss that continues to grow, driven by strong demand from both existing and new customers. They are looking to strengthen their engineering team with an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This will be a fast‑paced production environment where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring machinery, equipment, and site facilities operate at maximum efficiency.
Note: This role does not offer visa sponsorship. You must also have a full UK driving licence and own vehicle due to the location.

Shift Pattern
You’ll be part of a 4‑team rotating shift pattern, working: 12‑hour shifts (8am–8pm / 8pm–8am) 2 weeks on days, followed by 2 weeks on nights 3 Engineers per shift, with additional day‑based electrical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance
- Supporting continuous improvement across plant performance and reliability
- Working on a wide range of production machinery and site infrastructure
- Ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and reporting
- Collaborating with the wider engineering team to minimise downtime
About You
We’re looking for a hands‑on, experienced Mechanical Engineer who can work confidently in a demanding production environment.
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong skills in TIG welding, lathes, and milling machines
- Solid understanding of bearings, chains, sprockets and taper locks
- Experience within a manufacturing or heavy plant environment (food/meat sector advantageous)
- Knowledge of machinery, maintenance practices and compliance standards
