About the Role
Joining a busy and well‑equipped HGV workshop, you will be responsible for:
- Handling diagnostic appointments and advanced fault investigation
- Completing mechanical repairs and rectifying faults found during inspections
- Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance to manufacturer standards
- Ensuring high levels of workmanship and compliance with safety procedures
- Updating job cards and maintaining accurate repair documentation
- Supporting service productivity and efficient workshop flow
- Participating in regular technical training to enhance your skill set
- Working to manufacturer guidelines and delivering quality‑focused results
This is a role that offers both variety and technical depth — no two days are the same.
Working Hours
Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑11:00 (30 min unpaid break)
What We're Looking For
- Diagnostic‑level experience working on HGVs
- Manufacturer diagnostic accreditation preferred
- Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) desirable
- Time‑served technicians with 5+ years’ experience also considered
- Strong diagnostic ability and technical problem‑solving skills
- Flexible, organised, and able to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Understanding of health & safety requirements in a commercial workshop
Highly desirable experience
- Diagnostic accreditation from any HGV manufacturer
- IRTEC qualification
- LGV/HGV/PCV licence
- Roadside assistance training
- Bus/coach experience
