Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm + 1 Saturday per month, 9:00am - 2:00pm

ISQ Recruitment is working with a growing automotive repair business in Welwyn Garden City, seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their busy workshop team. This is a great opportunity for a confident and reliable technician who enjoys varied mechanical and diagnostic work, wants to take pride in their repairs, and is looking to join a smaller business where their contribution is genuinely valued.

The role will suit someone comfortable working across a range of vehicles and repairs, from servicing and fault finding through to larger mechanical jobs. We are looking for candidates with strong hands-on workshop experience, excellent attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach. You will need to be confident dealing with both mechanical and electrical faults, while also being able to support customers and the wider team when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across a range of vehicles
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and general vehicle repairs
  • Undertake larger repair work including clutches, timing belts, and head gaskets
  • Support customers when required, including answering phones and assisting with enquiries
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised workshop and office environment
  • Work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard at all times
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
  • Relevant qualifications required for the role
  • Confident diagnosing both mechanical and electrical vehicle faults
  • Experience with servicing, repairs, clutches, timing belts, and head gaskets
  • Full UK driving licence required, clean licence preferred
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional approach
  • Reliable, punctual, and proud of the quality of your work
Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am - 2:00pm, 1 Saturday per month
  • 1-hour lunch break during the working day
  • Overtime may be available depending on workload
