Location: Reading

Salary: up to £43,000 per annum + Bonus Potential up to £6,000 per annum (OTE up to £49,000 DOE)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours: 41 hours per week, Monday-Friday (1-hour unpaid break) plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:00am-12:00pm)

ISQ Recruitment is currently representing a leading HGV service business in Reading seeking an organised and process-driven HGV Workshop Controller to manage a busy HGV workshop. The role requires a candidate who can respond quickly to technical challenges, support the Service Manager, and ensure high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for a professional with HGV workshop experience looking to take on a leadership role, overseeing workshop operations, ensuring smooth communication between technicians, service teams, and customers, and driving both productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise gross profit by managing workshop hours and product sales
  • Allocate work efficiently to technicians, ensuring quality and productivity
  • Communicate proactively with technicians, front of house, parts, warranty teams, and customers
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the workshop team; manage training and leave requests
  • Maintain and calibrate workshop equipment and tooling
  • Liaise with parts department to maximise availability and maintain correct documentation
  • Ensure adherence to manufacturer warranty standards and high customer satisfaction (CSAT)
  • Maintain workshop health & safety standards and ensure audit compliance
  • Undertake additional tasks as required, including customer liaison and service admin support
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in an HGV workshop environment preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and team-working abilities
  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of health & safety requirements in a workshop setting
  • Full Right to Work in the UK - NO VISA SPONSORSHIP
Working Hours

41 hours per week, Monday-Friday (1-hour unpaid break) 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:00am-12:00pm)
