Plant Services Engineer Sector: Manufacturing (non-food) Location: Suffolk Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £44,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday – double days Are you an experienced Engineer with a strong background in site services, utilities, and preventative maintenance? We\’re supporting a major global packaging manufacturer in their search for an experienced Plant Services Engineer . You\’ll be part of a skilled and collaborative site services team, supporting a high-volume production environment by maintaining vital infrastructure and plant systems. * Please note this client does not offer VISA sponsorship, only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK and relevant experience to this role will be considered. Hours: Monday to Friday – double days. Alternate weekends as per production demand (scheduled & unscheduled). Currently, the Plant Engineers cover scheduled call outs every other weekend. Complete PPM and ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation. Monitor and maintain water treatment systems to regulatory and operational standards. Oversee and maintain a wide range of equipment, including: – Air compressors – Refrigeration systems – Compressed air dryers – Heating boilers and ventilation systems – Pumps, chilled water systems, and water softeners Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to lifting equipment, fire protection systems, compressed air, and local exhaust ventilation. Conduct relevant safety testing and inspections. Ensure hazardous materials are disposed of safely and correctly. Key Criteria: Qualified in at least one core Engineering discipline – Electrical or Mechanical ( essential ). Strong understanding of the other discipline to at least NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent). Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel ( essential ). Forklift truck license ( desirable ). Experience with reciprocating/screw compressors, pump sets, and industrial water systems ( desirable ).
