ISQ Recruitment are delighted to be working with a growing and profitable food manufacturing business in Essex seeking a Head of Operations . An independent company committed to sustainability, with an aim to become the UK’s first carbon-neutral producer of their product.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading the Company’s strategic development and logistical activities relating to production.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Devising ways to increase efficiencies in all areas and identifying ways to implement and support continuous improvement.
- Develop and oversee the operational and technical budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated.
- Control expenditure and overhead to hit financial budget targets and to advice the Financial Director of any potential deviation from budget.
- Supervise the Production and Technical team to achieve operational KPI’s.
- Ensure BRC and Food Safety requirements are achieved to maintain compliance.
- Work to improve standards to accommodate the specific requirements of new retail customers, and to advise any potential conflicts with existing customer mix and SKU’s.
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met at all times, and fire prevention equipment / systems / training are fully adhered to.
- To manage and oversee company’s Technical department, setting personnel targets and performing appraisals accordingly.
Person Specifications
- Prior experience in Senior Management / Operations role within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards, such as HACCP and BRC certifications.
- Proven experience in production planning, budget management, Health & Safety processes, and team development.
- Experience with / able to nurture a positive cultural environment.
- Must have a full UK driving license with access to own vehicle.
