ISQ Recruitment is supporting a manufacturing business in Norfolk with the recruitment of a Shift Maintenance Engineer. Following an initial 4 to 6 week induction working days with an experienced technician, this role will move onto a rotating shift pattern. The position supports asset reliability and maintenance performance across the site. This role operates within a non-food manufacturing environment.
The Role
Working as part of the Engineering and Asset Care team, you will be responsible for first-line maintenance, fault finding, and planned maintenance activities across production and utility equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out reactive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and utility equipment
- Fault finding across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Supporting planned maintenance and Operator Asset Care activities
- Recording maintenance activity and escalating issues where required
- Supporting continuous improvement and process control initiatives
- Identifying and sourcing replacement parts in a cost-effective manner
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to meet operational priorities
- Maintaining safe systems of work and a clean, organised working environment
- Completing structured shift handovers to ensure continuity between shifts
- Supporting training, mentoring, and induction of colleagues when required
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical qualification at a recognised national standard
- Electrical qualification or experience, HNC or HND preferred
- Strong fault-finding capability across mechanical and electrical systems
- Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements in an industrial setting
- Ability to work effectively as part of a shift-based team
Desirable:
- Experience working with complex manufacturing equipment
- Exposure to planned maintenance systems and continuous improvement activity
- Experience supporting or training colleagues
