ISQ Recruitment is supporting a manufacturing business in Norfolk with the recruitment of an Engineering & Maintenance Manager. This is a senior leadership role, forming part of the site Senior Leadership Team. The position reports directly to the Managing Director, with a dotted line into the Head of Operations. The role has responsibility for engineering maintenance, asset care, and compliance across the site, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
The Role
You will lead and manage all engineering and maintenance activity, ensuring equipment availability, statutory compliance, and safe systems of work. The role combines operational leadership with longer-term planning, capital projects, and asset strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading site maintenance and engineering activity, ensuring safe and effective delivery
- Developing and implementing the site Asset Care and maintenance strategy
- Managing engineering compliance, including ISO 9001 and BRC requirements
- Owning Health and Safety within engineering, with a strong focus on risk reduction
- Leading capital projects, including scope, cost, timelines, and delivery
- Driving CMMS usage and data-led maintenance planning
- Managing engineering budgets, maintenance spend, and CAPEX
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operations
- Developing, managing, and performance reviewing Engineering and Asset Care Team Leaders
- Supporting recruitment, training, and succession planning within the engineering function
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, Logistics, HR, and external contractors
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing an engineering or maintenance team within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of maintenance systems, asset care, and engineering compliance
- Formal Health and Safety management training or equivalent experience
- Engineering background, mechanical, electrical, or technical
- Project management experience within an industrial environment
- Confident communicator, comfortable working at senior leadership level
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Exposure to TPM or structured continuous improvement frameworks
- Experience implementing or driving CMMS systems
Annual leave: 33 days
Death in Service: 2x annual salary
Pension: 6 percent employer and 6 percent employee contribution
