CNC Programmer / Operator – Precision Small-Batch Work

We\'re working with a modern precision engineering business in Cambridgeshire looking to grow their machine shop team. This is a hands-on role producing small-batch, high-accuracy components for both production and R&D projects.
You\'ll be working in a clean, well-organised workshop with modern CNC sliding head lathes, supported by a collaborative team and ongoing training opportunities.
The Role
  • Program, set, and operate Fanuc-controlled sliding head lathes (training available if you have CNC turning experience)
  • Produce small-run, tight-tolerance components from engineering drawings
  • Carry out inspections and basic finishing
  • Work on a mix of production and prototype parts
  • Maintain safe, clean working practices and suggest process improvements
What We\'re Looking For
  • CNC turning, mill-turn, or sliding head experience
  • Able to work to fine tolerances and read engineering drawings
  • Programming knowledge (Fanuc or other) preferred — training given as needed
  • CAD/CAM or multi-axis experience is a bonus
