If you are an experienced MHE Assessor or qualified lift truck instructor with a strong focus on safety and compliance, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of operator competence and MHE safety within a large, operational warehouse environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring materials handling equipment is operated safely and in line with legislation, internal procedures, and operational requirements, while working closely with operations and health & safety teams.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Assessing MHE operator competence through practical assessments and on-the-job evaluations
- Ensuring safe working practices are followed during manual and mechanical handling activities
- Coaching and briefing operators to reinforce safe behaviours and compliance at all times
- Supporting Health & Safety investigations relating to MHE incidents or damage
- Maintaining high standards of orderliness and safety across warehouse and work areas
- Acting as a point of contact between Operations and the MHE provider on fleet-related matters
- Coordinating MHE servicing and repairs to minimise disruption to site operations
- Identifying root causes of MHE damage and raising purchase orders where internal fault is identified
- Carrying out periodic racking inspections to SEMA standard (training available if required)
- Delivering training in line with agreed programmes, legislation, and site requirements
- Ensuring training records and documentation are completed accurately and on time
What You Will Bring:
- RTITB Lift Truck Instructor qualification (essential)
- RTITB Scissor Lift Instructor qualification (essential)
- Experience in an MHE training or assessment role within a warehouse or logistics environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work
- Clear communication skills with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities to deadlines
- Structured, detail-focused approach to documentation and compliance
