At ISP School, we have been dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children for over 20 years. Our Special Educational Needs School in Kent is renowned for providing tailored support to students aged 7 to 16 with complex needs. We are excited to announce the opening of our new school in Battle, East Sussex, which will accommodate up to 60 pupils. Nestled within a beautiful country estate, our new location offers a stunning backdrop for education.
Your Role
As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in our students' educational journeys. Your responsibilities will include:
- Mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than five.
- Assisting the classroom teacher during lessons.
- Reporting on pupils' progress and collaborating with staff to meet their needs.
- Supervising pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
- Helping with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
- Setting and marking work as appropriate.
- Building positive relationships to foster engagement and positive learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to lead in a specialism, such as Reading, Mathematics, or Forest School.
- Skills in behaviour management and techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by ISP.
