At ISP Whitstable, we are a small, specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Primary school dedicated to supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviors. \n\n Your Key Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Mentor and support one pupil or a small group, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • \n

  • Deliver engaging lessons aligned with early years frameworks and curriculum development.
  • \n

  • Build positive relationships to drive interaction and achieve positive learning outcomes.
  • \n

  • Report on children's progress and concerns, collaborating with other staff to meet their needs.
  • \n

  • Supervise children during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • \n

  • Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
  • \n

  • Set work where appropriate and provide feedback through marking.
  • \n

  • Implement attachment and trauma-informed strategies to support children's social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • \n

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and staff meetings as required.

\n \n\n Qualifications and Skills\n

    \n
  • A relevant qualification in education or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma).
  • \n

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of early years frameworks and curriculum development.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with complex needs.
  • \n

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • \n

  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
