At ISP Whitstable, we are a small, specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Primary school dedicated to supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviors. Our safe and nurturing environment is enhanced by well-trained, supportive staff who utilize therapeutic and holistic approaches to create engaging and inspiring learning experiences tailored to each child's unique journey.
\n\n Your Key Responsibilities\n

- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Assist in delivering engaging lessons aligned with early years frameworks and curriculum development.
- Build strong relationships with children to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
- Report on children's progress and collaborate with staff to meet their needs.
- Supervise children during non-classroom times, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Help with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
- Set and mark work as appropriate.
- Implement attachment and trauma-informed strategies to support children's social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and staff meetings as required.

- A relevant qualification in education or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma).
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of early years frameworks and curriculum development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with complex needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
